Caribbean Ministry: The Caribbean Ministry was formed to provide and present the Caribbean culture to our community through fellowship, outreach and the worship experience. To affirm the human dignity, that we are all God's children with our origin Mother Africa. Meets 4th Monday of the month in the small community room at 7:00 p.m. Coordinator: Sister Yvonne Dunkley Center for Afrikan Biblical Studies (CFABS): The Center for Afrikan Biblical Studies cultivates and promotes communal and personal journeys that deepen and enrich our work with Afrikan spiritual principles of the cosmos which includes every living creation. Our journey leads us to harmony and balance with the universe so that we understand and engage in the interrelatedness of everything. As we re-learn and recover our living as spiritual beings, we are agents of transcendence, healing and transformation. Coordinator: Elder Itihari Toure Chama Cha Wazee (Council of Elders): In the Afrikan community, the elders provide community wisdom, stability, discipline and care. Even today, we can recall the positive influences of grandfathers, grandmothers, aunts, uncles and other older people in the neighborhood. The recognition of Chama Cha Wazee's role is vital in reshaping today’s negative policy of regarding the elders as dispensable. Chama Cha Wazee meets monthly. Coordinator: Dr. Mary Anne Bellinger Disciples for Service: This is a community outreach ministry organized to serve those who are affected by poverty, disenfranchisement and injustice. We are a direct service delivery ministry to fulfill the charge of Jesus to feed the hungry, clothe the naked and to befriend the friendless. Coordinator: TBD Eropo Men’s Ministry: Eropo Men's Ministry provides opportunities for First Afrikan men and the greater community of men to develop leadership traits, empowering them to move from membership to leadership in the church, community and world. Meets 3rd Tuesday of the month in the small community room at 7:00 p.m. Coordinator: Deacon James Marble First Afrikan Community Action Team: The First Afrikan Community Action Team is First Afrikan Church’s component of ABLE (Atlantans Building Leadership For Empowerment): ABLE is built on the concept of bringing people together for cultural exchange and developing improved public works. Those public works include taxes, schools, political representation, housing and business enterprises all those entities that affect our daily lives. Meets 1st Monday of the month in the small community room at 7:00 p.m. Coordinator: Sister Renee Cail Media Ministry: The mission of the Media Ministry is to make audio and video recordings of the worship services and church events for the membership and the community. Coordinator: Deacon Daniel Kelly Music Ministry: The music ministry ministers to the congregation during the worship experience through songs and instruments that reflect our cultural history and current context. We also provide music during church events. Through our mission we develop and maintain various choirs of the church, -Sanctuary, Youth and Praise Team. Sanctuary Choir meets on the 1st, 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month in the Sanctuary at 7:30. Coordinator: Reverend Dr. Maisha Handy, Sister Donna Wods and Sister Tawanna Morgan NIA -Women On a Mission to Empower a Nation (W.O.M.A.N): The mission of the NIA Women's ministry is to build a community of women who inspire, praise, educate and liberate by transforming women of all ages and empowering a nation through wholeness of spirit, mind and body. Meets 3rd Monday of the month in the small community room at 7:30 p.m. Coordinators: Elder Bettie Duvall, Sister Danielle King and Sister Angela Reid Tamba Issa Dance Ministry: This ministry was formed to reclaim our rich heritage of dance as a medium for the expression of Africentric praise, worship and witness; to cultivate the gift of dance as a method of teaching and reinforcing the principles of Christian commitment and discipleship; to enhance the worship experience though the use of various styles and types of dance. Meets Every Tuesday in the main community room at 7:00 p.m. Coordinators: Sisters Gloria Gundy and Renee King Tana Dhari: The mission of Tana Dhari (Security Ministry) is to provide secure environment for the pastoral staff and church members during all church functions. Meets the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month at 7:30 p.m. in the main community room Coordinators: Deacons Carlton and Dorothea Williams Usher Board: The mission of the Usher Board is to greet individuals with the love of Jesus the Christ, as they enter the sanctuary and to be attentive to the needs of worshipers, throughout the entire worship experience. Coordinator: Elder Sylvia Williams-Marble and Sister Kim Mailey Worship Life Ministry: Worship Life Ministry seeks to provide an Africentric worship experience that reflects a reverent celebration of God’s presence in our lives. To enhance the celebration of God’s presence through Spirit-filled liturgy, dance, music, drama, art and poetry in a culturally relevant manner. The Worship Life Ministry meets quarterly. Coordinators: Reverend Dr. Maisha Handy Youth Development Ministry Council (YDMC): The mission of the YDMC is to provide our youth with an Africentric Christian Foundation that is relevant and applicable to their lives today; to provide our youth with the opportunities to fellowship with their peers through special events and mission service; to develop leadership skills as it pertains to the church, community and the world. It is the umbrella ministry for focused work with Youth Church, Nursery, Youth Choir, Sihle Dance Ministry and the Rites of Passage programs. Coordinator: Elder Pauline Marshall and Elder Cassandra Pannell Youth Choir: meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month in the small community room at 7:00 p.m. and on the 3rd Thursday of the month in the Sanctuary at 7:00 p.m. Coordinator: Minister Chinasa Lebechi Sihle Dance Ministry:

Sihle meets on the 1st and 3rd Saturday’s of the month at 10am in the sanctuary.
Coordinator: Angela Wiggins Heshima and Kijana Rites of Passage Program: The mission of the Rites of Passage Programs is to empower youth with the knowledge, skills and abilities to transform successfully from adolescence into an African-centered adulthood. The Heshima Girls Rites of Passage Program meets on 1st and 3rd Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. between October and June. The Kijana Boys Rites of Passage Program meets on 2nd and 4th Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. between October and June. Coordinators: Mother Bettye J. Wilson, Deacon Lynne Young & Brother Michael McWhorter.
